Organic biostimulant and biological nitrogen foliar feed fixing for plants

METILO is unique organic microbial biostimulant and nitrogen fixation product for plants in agriculture, with active ingredient of proprietary endophytic bacterium, Methylobacterium, designed to help crop leaves fix atmospheric nitrogen naturally, convert it to ammonium through metabolic process throughout the growth cycle. The nitrogen foliar feed offers farmers a foliar nitrogen solution to help crops thrive in a natural and sustainable way by using nitrogen fixing endophytes, Consequently, there is a permanent flow of ammonium to the plant while saving foliar fertilizer and energy.

Mode of Action

  • METILO Microbial Biostimulant has the enzyme nitrogenase nifH gene (a gene involved in nitrogen fixation) in its genome, covert the nitrogen in the air into ammonium, contributes to the vital nutrient availability for overall growth cycle
  • Produce the highly active urease which is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide, which helps crops absorb nitrogen
  • Its ability to efficiently dissolve inorganic phosphate and participate in the phosphate metabolism of plants, which is of great significance for promoting crop growth and increasing biomass
  • Reduce the ethylene level by reducing the accumulation of agricultural hormone ethylene precursor ACC, which promotes plant organ shedding and aging , thereby reducing the disease symptoms of crops infected by pathogenic bacteria
  • Protect host crops by inducing systemic resistance (ISR, Induced systemic resistance). Volatile organic compounds and plant cell wall degrading enzymes (such as glycosidase, cellulase or endoglucanase, hemicellulase, and pectinase) act as ISR-inducing factors to induce its growth and protect crops protection from pathogens.
  • Secrete indole acetic acid (IAA), cytokinin (CK), stimulate cell division or plant elongation; reduce the accumulation of ethylene in leaves stoma by secreting 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase (ACC), thereby reducing flower and fruit drop.
  • Enhance tolerance to various abiotic stresses, such as drought, salinity, and heavy metal toxicity. Improve the leaves’ ability to withstand adverse environmental conditions by producing stress-protective compounds, increasing antioxidant activity, and regulating osmotic balance in plant tissues.

Benefit

  • Fast colonize around stoma for fixing nitrogen from the air
  • Convert nitrogen to ammonium throughout the cycle
  • Microbial stimulant for enhancing nutrient uptake
  • Inducing systemic resistance (ISR) and Enhance Stress Tolerance
  • Reducing flower and fruit drop
  • Acting as foliar nitrogen, reducing the reliance on synthetic fertilizer
  • Alleviate disease symptoms after pathogenic bacteria infection

Dosage & Method

  • Apply by foliar and bunch spray. Spray the METILO Biostimulant at the rate of 1-1.5 ml per liter of water at regular interval of 15 days.
  • Period of use Dosage Instructions: Please apply at the leaf growth, blooming and fruit set and growth period
  • When mixed with medium and trace element foliar fertilizers, AVOID MIXING WITH CALCIUM trace element.
  • Compatible to most of chemical fungicide, DO NOT EXCEED > 2 hrs when tank mixing with other fungicide.

Tips for Methylobacterium in agriculture

  • Early growth stage: For many crops, It is beneficial to apply METILO Organic Biostimulant during the early stages of crop growth. This is typically when the plants have developed their first few sets of leaves and are actively growing. The young and actively growing leaves have a higher potential for colonization, which promote overall growth and development.
  • Pre- or Post-Stress Period: Applying before or after periods of stress helps enhance the stress tolerance and recovery. This could include applying before expected drought, heatwaves, or other stressful conditions, or immediately following such events. It aid in mitigating the negative effects of stress and help it recover more effectively.
  • Vegetative or Reproductive Stage: Microbial stimulant can be applied during both the vegetative stage (focused on foliage development) and the reproductive stage (flowering and fruiting).
  • Optimal Weather Conditions: Apply microbial stimulant during favorable weather conditions. Ideally, choose a day with mild temperatures, moderate humidity, and calm or low-wind conditions. Extreme temperatures, high humidity, or strong winds can affect the survival and efficacy of the bacteria on the plant surfaces.
  • Avoid Rainfall: Ensure that rainfall or heavy irrigation is not expected for a few hours after the application. Rain or excessive moisture immediately after spraying will wash away the biological stimulant from the leaf surfaces, reducing their effectiveness. Aim for a dry period following application to allow the bacteria to establish and colonize the plant surfaces.
  • Thorough Coverage: Ensure thorough coverage of the plant foliage during spraying. Aim to achieve uniform and complete coverage, including both the upper and lower leaf surfaces, facilitating colonization and beneficial interactions.
